You run the business. We run the website.
Web Expression builds small business websites from end to end. We find and buy the domain, design and build the site, and host it on our own server. You tell us about the business once — everything after that is our job.
No website builder to learn. No hosting account to manage. No renewal date to miss.
Word of mouth still works. It just doesn't finish the job.
Being recommended is still how most small businesses get found in Britain. But the person who was given your name doesn't ring you straight away. They look you up first — and what they find, or don't find, decides whether they call.
still find you by word of mouth
You're not wrong that recommendations bring the work. It's still the single biggest way people in the UK discover a small business.
they check you online
The first things people look for are your reviews, and what you actually do and charge. If there's nothing to find, that's the moment the doubt creeps in.
act within a day
Of people who search on their phone for something nearby, three quarters visit a business within 24 hours. That's someone ready to buy, today, choosing between you and whoever turns up.

A Facebook page isn't the same thing
It's a good place to be found, but it isn't yours. You can't control how it looks, it can be restricted or lost, and it's a poor place for someone to work out your prices, your areas or your services. Your own address is the one thing nobody can take off you.
It answers the questions you keep answering
What do you charge? Do you cover my area? Are you insured? Can I see your work? Every one of those is a phone call you're taking while you're on a job — or a customer who gave up and rang someone else.
It's open when you're not
Enquiries land in your inbox at nine at night and half seven on a Sunday, when you're not answering the phone. You pick them up when you're free and the work is still there.
It's the difference between looking established and looking temporary
Two quotes, same price. One has a proper website with photos of the work and real reviews. The other has a mobile number. Most people pick the first, and they don't think twice about it.
Three jobs you never have to do
Most people who put off getting a website put it off because of these three things. They're the parts we take off you completely.
The address
We check what's free, tell you the sensible options, and buy the one you pick on your behalf. It's registered for your business, and we keep it renewed so it never lapses.
The site
Written and designed around the questions your customers actually ask — what you do, where, what it costs, and how to book you. You approve it before it goes anywhere near the internet.
The hosting
Your site sits on our own server with the security certificate set up and backups running. If something breaks, you don't ring a call centre — you message us.
How it works
Three steps, and only the first one needs anything from you.
Tell us about the business
A phone call or a few messages. What you do, who you do it for, and what you want someone to do when they land on the page — call, book, or send an enquiry.
We build it
You get a link to a working site, not a flat picture of one. Click round it on your phone, tell us what to change, and we change it. As many rounds as it takes to get right.
We put it live
Domain pointed, certificate installed, enquiry form tested, and the site submitted to Google. You get the address to start handing out.
And afterwards. Changed your prices? Got new photos? Taking on a new service? Message us and it's updated — you don't log in to anything.
What you get
Every site we build comes with all of this. There's no version where these are extras.
Built for a phone first
Most people will find you on a mobile. That's the screen we design for, then we make it work upwards.
Enquiries straight to your inbox
A contact form that emails you the moment someone fills it in, tested before the site goes live.
Set up to be found
Page titles, descriptions and headings written properly, and the site submitted to Google so it starts appearing in searches.
Secure by default
The padlock in the address bar, sorted from day one, plus regular backups of the whole site.
Photo and video, if you need it
We film and edit as well as build. If your site needs real footage of you at work rather than stock images, we can shoot it.
Changes made for you
Send a message with what you want changed. No logins, no dashboards, no editor to fight with.
A recent one
Robert Ellis is a UEFA B licensed coach and a scout for Sheffield United. He needed one place to send parents, players and clubs — a proper page with his background, what he offers, and a way to get hold of him.
We registered the domain, built the site around his services, and put it live on our server. He didn't touch a single settings page.

Domain renewed, hosting, security certificate, daily backups, uptime monitoring, and one small change a month.
Standard
Everything in Essential, plus changes whenever you need them — new prices, new photos, a new service. Message us and it is done.
Growth
Everything in Standard, plus a new page or article each month to help you show up in more searches, and a quarterly summary of how the site is doing.
The offer price comes with a 12 month care plan. That is the trade — we build it at half price, you stay with us for the first year. After that you are free to leave whenever you like.
The domain is yours. We register it on your behalf and keep it renewed. Ask us to hand it over at any point and we will transfer it to you, no charge and no argument.
Text link placements
The other side of Web Expression, running since 2014. We sit between advertisers who want links and bloggers who have space to sell — and we handle the matching, the pricing and the payment.
Buying links
We hold a database of sites across most genres, with the detail you need on each one — genre, ranking, traffic and price. Tell us the budget and we come back with the best matches on our books.
Selling links
If you run a blog with an audience, you can earn from it. You set your own prices — we don't cap what your site is worth — and we'll tell you what similar sites are getting so you don't undersell.
Content writing
Writers with a bit of personality rather than filler. Give us the subject and we'll match you with the right writer from our list.
Questions people ask first
If you buy the domain, whose is it?
It's bought for your business and it stays tied to your business. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, we'll transfer it to you — we're not going to hold your web address hostage.
What happens if I want to move the site somewhere else?
We hand over the site files and release the domain. It's your business and your address; we just look after them for you.
How long does it take?
From the first conversation to a live site is usually a couple of weeks, and most of that is waiting on photos, prices and copy from you. If you have everything ready it can be a lot quicker.
Do I need to know anything technical?
No. That's the entire point. If you can send a message describing what you want changed, you can run a site with us.
Can you use my existing logo and photos?
Yes. Send us whatever you've got and we'll work with it. If you don't have a logo, or the photos are old, we can sort both.
What does it cost?
Builds start at £195 and the monthly care plan starts at £22 — the full breakdown is on our pricing section. If your business needs something that doesn't fit one of the three, tell us what you're after and we'll price it properly rather than squeezing you into a package.

Tell us roughly what the business does and what you want the site to achieve. We'll come back with a price and a rough timescale — no obligation, and no sales call unless you want one.
